Giraffe

Giraffe

Rising above it all, literally

Up to 4 guests · 39 m² · 1 double bed + 1 sofa bed · View Garden · Step-free accessible shower · Step-free access

The giraffe climbs the wall and vanishes towards the ceiling, exactly where nineteenth-century proportions come into their own. Your eyes follow, your head tilts back, and you catch yourself smiling.

A bright, gentle room where the ochres of the coat answer the original woodwork. Children adore it. So do their parents, though they do not always admit it.

The species

Behind the name, an animal

Critically endangered species

Giraffes were long thought to be abundant. Their numbers have nevertheless fallen by almost 40% in thirty years, almost unnoticed - a silent extinction. The Parc Animalier d’Auvergne keeps giraffes and supports conservation programmes for them.

5% of our revenue goes to the Play For Nature fund, which finances the conservation of endangered species.
